I
met Ian through my brother in law John, although he
wasn't my brother in law at the time. John had a friend,
Lee, with whom he lived, and Lee knew Ian through their
mutual passion for DJ-ing. It was at John's 30th birthday
party in March 1999 that we met, though we didn't get
together until September 1999.
On my 20th birthday I hosted a barbecue with family
and friends and I had asked Ian to wake me up early
so we could start preparing. He woke me at 6.30am with
my cards and presents, and when I opened his card I
was stunned to see the words "Will you marry me?"
inside! I couldn't believe it, and was totally shocked,
but said yes right away.
We spent 18 months preparing for our wedding. The day
itself was absolutely fantastic, and went at a nice
leisurely pace. The ceremony took place at 1 o'clock
at our local Catholic church, St Paul's in Liverpool,
as Ian is Catholic.
Our reception was held at the Thistle Hotel in Liverpool,
and the food, entertainment, service, in fact everything
was absolutely excellent. I wouldn't change a thing
about any aspect of our special day.
