I woke up at 4.30am
feeling quite sick with nerves. What a start to my special
day!
My mum took me to the hairdressers at 10am, which took
about an hour. By the time I got back all the flowers
had arrived! My best friend who was also my chief bridesmaid,
is a florist and she did all the flowers, which were absolutely
spectacular! I had ivory roses in a posy and my bridesmaids
had bright pink roses in the same style.
The bridesmaids then arrived I got dressed and suddenly
became really calm, the bridesmaids were more nervous
than I was! We had a few photos in the garden before the
cars whisked us off to the church. I was very calm but
nearly cried with joy as I walked up the aisle.
The ceremony went
like a dream and neither of us were nervous at all.
We then went on to the hotel at about 30 miles per hour
in an open top car, which I would not recomend, as we
were nearly blown to bits - not at all romantic!
The weather was fantastic
- really hot and sunny so we could take full advantage
of the patio where we had our photographs taken and drank
bucks fizz. The afternoon went really well although Andy
and I didn't eat much due to nerves and excitement.
We had a toastmaster, which I would highly recommend as
he did lots of little things to make the day more special
like passing a card around for everyone to sign and put
a special message on. We then had the speeches, which
were very funny and had my mother-in-law in tears!
After the speeches,
we cut our cake, which was made by a friend of mine and
was fantastic.
For the evening reception, the room was turned in to a
disco and we had about thirty more guests join us and
we all danced the night away!
We went on our honeymoon on the Monday and couldn't have
chosen a better place. Bali was heavenly! I would highly
recommend it to everyone as a very romantic and relaxing
place - if you can ignore the 23 hour journey to get there!
Do Differently: I would not have stayed the night
in the same hotel as the wedding as we spent the first
morning of our married life running around moving presents
and listening to everyone complaining about how bad their
rooms were! |
