Grab a bottle of your favourite drink, a box of tissues and a comfy chair to snuggle down in as you feast your eyes. Some of these are good to watch alone, some with girlfriends and others with your H2B. Enjoy!

Feature Films

The Best Man (1999)
Chestnut is getting married and his college buddies are in town for the occasion. But best man Diggs has written a saucy section of his novel about a one-night stand with the bride.

Father Of The Bride (1950)
The Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor original is well-worth watching and if you are thinking about starting a family soon after your wedding then you will love Father’s Little Dividend, which is the sequel.

Father Of The Bride (1992)
Definitely a feel-good Steve Martin comedy with a brilliant cameo role for the all-embracing wedding co-ordinator.

Four Weddings And A Funeral (1993)
If any bride-to-be has not watched and wept at this Hugh Grant classic then you must run to the video shop immediately! Each of the said weddings is a hilarious lesson in what to avoid for your own celebrations and there are too many classic moments to mention.

Honeymoon In Vegas (1992)
Nicholas Cage teams up with Sex in the City star, Sarah Jessica Parker, for this crazy film about weddings, cold feet and truck-loads of Elvis impersonators. Great fun.

How To Marry A Millionaire (1953)
Marilyn Monroe, Betty Grable and Lauren Bacall set out to snare themselves a rich man… but in true Hollywood tradition realise that love is what really counts. Hmmm, when you check out your wedding budget you may be sorely tempted!

Invitation To The Wedding (1982)
Starring Paul Nicholson, Ralph Richardson and John Gielgud, this romantic comedy is all about what happens when the groom’s best friend falls in love with the bride.

Muriel’s Wedding (1994)
Who wants more from a film… Abba and weddings. This Aussie hit is off-beat but a great night in.

My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997)
Commitment-shy Julia Robert squares-up to sweet-as-pie Cameron Diaz in this fun romantic comedy.

The Runaway Bride (1999)
Another Julia Roberts wedding film but this time she is the bride who has left various suitors stranded at the altar. Cue Richard Gere in their first collaboration since Pretty Woman.

Seven Brides For Seven Brothers (1954)

A wonderful musical with some amazing choreography and memorable songs. A definite Sunday afternoon candidate.

The Wedding (1997)
Halle Berry stars in this epic mini-series from Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Films. Love, duty, mixed heritages and weddings combine in this heart-breaking drama.

The Wedding Party (1963)
A young Robert De Niro stars in this film about the confusion at the Wedding Party for Josephine and Charlie. Re-released in 1997.

The Wedding Singer (1998)
An hilarious cast including Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, this is a must-see for any bride or groom-to-be, even if you just want a good ole Eighties singalong. Even stars Billy Idol as himself.

Other TV videos

Friends
'The One With Ross' Wedding' and 'The One After Ross Says Rachel' are absolute classics – but not for those worried that they are marrying the wrong guy (or girl)!

The Neighbours Wedding Collection
Would you believe it, you can actually find the video to watch Daphne and Des, Madge and Harold and Charlene and Scott tie the knot. How did we live without it?!

The Royle Family (Series 1)
This hysterical view on British family life culminates in Caroline Aherne’s wedding. Great parodies on the roles of MOB, FOB, groom, bridesmaid and B2B.
