Finding the perfect paper gift is easier than it sounds, because
while it’s not as obvious as some of the other anniversary gifts,
paper allows you to be extremely flexible and inventive! If you’ve
got the perfect present for your partner, but it's in no way, shape
or form made out of paper, or even a tree that might have otherwise
ended up as paper, then you can even try this: Post them a note
telling them you have a special gift and it's in the driveway/in
the rabbit hutch/you’ll give it to them at dinner tonight. It's
far more fun than only receiving junk mail and bank statements on
your anniversary!
For something more clearly in the paper line, why not try one of
our favourite ideas?
Tickets - these are the perfect paper gift for all tastes
and pockets! Whether it's tickets to Bali for two weeks of sun,
to Centre Parks for three days of relaxation, to the theatre for
two hours of comedy, the cinema for 90 minutes of suspense, or Alton
Towers for a weekend of excitement this is a gift everyone will
appreciate!
Book/CD/Theatre Tokens – tokens are a great idea because
if your loved one is an avid reader, theatre goer or music lover
but there just doesn’t happen to be anything out at the moment that
they want, they can have the pleasure of receiving the gift now
and purchasing the new item later – double the fun!
Gift Certificates – if you know all she wants is a shopping
spree in Selfridges or he’s dying to dash off to B&Q ( or vice versa!)
then gift certificates are just the thing.
Love Tokens – these are a lovely and very personal idea that
don’t cost a thing! Create little tokens for things your partner
will enjoy – a meal, a foot rub, a trip to the seaside, not having
to do the washing up for a week! They can then trade them in over
the next week, month or year for a series of special treats.
Marriage Certificate – if you’ve just filed your marriage
certificate away in a drawer then maybe its time to get it out and
make it a centrepiece. Frame it on its own or with some pictures
from the big day.
Newspaper from the date you were married – or can be any
magazine that means a lot to him or her, be it Private Eye, Cat
Fanciers Daily, Viz…
A special book – if they’ve always adored The Jungle Book,
Treasure Island or Lord of the Rings how about investing in a lovely
hardback illustrated version that they can read and re-read and
perhaps hand down through the family?
A letter detailing your feelings over the year together –
this will not only be delightful for your partner to read but will
become a sentimental keepsake for both of you and possibly your
children!
