Body Treatments

Aromatherapy Massage
A specialised body massage uses essential oils extracted from plants, bark, flowers, leaves, fruits, roots, seeds, spices and resins to treat a wide variety of ailments and has an effect on both your physical and mental well-being.

After a full consultation with your therapist to help decide if one part of your body requires more work than another, and which oils she should use, a suitable blend will be mixed together just for you.

The technique used in aromatherapy is based on Chinese massage, and massage of the connective tissues. This is more than just an ordinary body massage, it is a top-to-toe treatment, dealing with your whole body – and well worth it if you are feeling particularly stressed out. You will start off lying on your stomach, and the therapist will relax you by placing her hand on the back of your neck, applying slight pressure with her thumb and fingers. She will then start to rub in the oil using rhythmical movements to loosen tight, uncomfortable areas quite easily.

The massage will cover your entire body, from neck to feet, and your therapist will finish by laying her hands on the soles of your feet, which has a wonderful relaxing effect. Don’t dilute the effect of the oils by having a bath, wait until the following morning.

Bio-therapeutic Gloves System

This unique, hands-on approach helps to tone the body from top to toe. The system is particularly beneficial on areas such as thighs, hips and stomach, resulting in a significant reduction in the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks. It is also highly effective in lifting and shaping the bust.

Gloves, worn by the beauty therapist, utilise a specially controlled series of signals to gently tighten and strengthen skin tissues. The signals are transmitted to the soft and silky glove through incredibly fine carbon fibres, whilst the current levels are adapted and set by the therapist to reach exactly the right muscle group.

Before treatment proceeds, the therapist immerses the gloves in warm water, then massages and relaxes the body. This stimulates circulation, smoothes texture and revitalises the skin’s natural elasticity and regenerative process.

Bust Treatments
Tones the bust. Treatment generally involves cleansing or an exfoliating cream to clear away any dead cells before being massaged. The special firming oils are designed to stimulate and improve circulation, and leave the skin feeling soft, tight and smooth. The massage movements are specially designed to encourage lift and reduce droop.

Inch-loss Wrap Bodycare System
A short-term treatment, which helps you to lose inches from your body measurements. Inch-loss wraps are designed for those who need to lose a couple of inches, fast. These treatments involve being measured before and after to prove the results, being massaged from your waist to your knees with ‘slimming gels’ (often containing plant and seaweed extracts claimed to promote detoxification) before being attached to electrode pads. A layer of quick-setting thermal clay is then applied and you are all wrapped up in foil and blankets. The machine is switched on and for the next 30 minutes a series of mild (and painless) electrical impulses from the pads will get your muscles contracting.

Ionithermie Detox Treatment

This treatment uses a combination of micronised algae, thermal clay and two electrical stimuli. It helps boost the metabolism, which in turn helps to disperse the ‘orange peel’ appearance of cellulite, while toning the contours of the buttocks, thighs, waist and hips.

First, your measurements are taken. The treatment then begins with a light massage using Ionithermie creams and gels. These contain algae and plant extracts enriched with vitamins and natural fat fighting formulas. A thermal clay and algae composition is then applied to the problem area over a fine layer of gauze.

Galvanic current is channelled evenly over the cellulite areas, via the gauze. The current draws the active ingredients into the skin where they penetrate and dissolve the fatty deposits as well as boosting the metabolism to encourage the elimination of toxins. A simultaneous faradic current stimulates the muscles and increases lymphatic drainage to help disperse fatty deposits.

By the end of the treatment the algae and clay compound has hardened to form a cast and is easily removed.

This is a superbly relaxing treatment, which leaves your skin feeling silky and toned, with the added benefit of visible inch loss. It lasts for about an hour and 15 minutes and a course of five treatments is recommended.

Thalgo
Thalgo treatments use marine algae, not only to improve the appearance of the body and face, but also to promote a sense of well being. The body is coated with a layer of warm marine algae, wrapped loosely in a plastic sheet and then covered with a duvet. After roughly 30 minutes the algae is washed off and the treatment ends with a massage.
