Hi Kate,I, like you have been very keen on photography for a long time now.It mostly started when I bought an slr camera(great things)about 4 years ago.But now I have decided to go to college this summer.It starts off with a foundation course which is 1 year then carries on to hnc and hnd which is 2 years.I have to young children so it will be difficult to juggle everything but its worth it.As for pay,its not badly paid.Once your established it is very good money,really depends on what you want to do with your photography.I would like to get into fashion/modelling photography.My friend done photography and she would work about 2 days work and earned around £700.

Before committing yourself to anything read up on as much as you can but what i would suggest is to try a camera club.I personally never joined one but I know people who have done it,one of them has now finished courses and works for the newspapers and doing very well.
